Welcome to our clinic website. The fact that you are looking around our site is a good sign. We offer different types of counseling, and we hope you can find what will work for you here with us. I would like to introduce myself and tell you about my training and the types of counseling I do.

My educational road has been varied. I now have a B.S., an M.A., an M.S. and very soon will become a Ph.D. I also have over 20 years of teaching experience. I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Language from Bob Jones University in 1981. I married my best friend, and spent the next 11 years teaching high school English and German in Michigan. Toward the end of that time, I received a Master of Arts in Reading from Oakland University in Rochester, MI.
I taught college English at an urban community college near Detroit for two years, then my husband and I moved our family to Wisconsin. Here I taught English and education courses at a Bible college for 12 years. I received a Master of Science from University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in Special Education in 2000, and designed a training program for special education teachers at my college. In 2003 I felt the need for more training, especially in the area of counseling. I began my doctoral work at Capella University in Clinical Psychology, with emphasis in assessment and neuropsychology. I am currently finished with my dissertation, and should be able to call myself "Doctor" in a few weeks.
I am licensed in Wisconsin as a Professional Counselor with Substance Abuse Specialty Authorization, with 5 years of experience. I see patients with a variety of issues, including alcohol or other substance use problems, and facilitate men's and teen recovery groups. My counseling style is strengths-based and family-oriented.
