questions. My name is Jeff Ferguson and I
am a graduate of University of Wisconsin-Whitewater with a Master’s Degree in
Community Counseling. I am currently a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
with the state of Wisconsin.
I provide couples therapy as well as adult and/or child individual therapy. I
have over 12 years of experience working with children and their families in a
wide variety of settings.

As a therapist, my passion has
always been children and adolescents, but my interest extends to adults and
couples as well. I believe that children are a direct product of their
environment, specifically their home life. I focus on the family and the
environment as well as on how the environment impacts those around us. I
utilize the family systems perspective as well as a holistic approach
encompassing solution focused, cognitive-behavioral, and play therapy
approaches. I love to get on the floor with the children I see and I get down
to their level. I find that I have a great sense of humor that I use to put
children at ease. I also find that I can relate to teenagers as I have worked
with them for many years. I feel that I can quickly gain their respect and
trust as I am patient, kind, and gentle, while at the same time I hold children
and teenagers responsible for their behaviors. I am fair and honest and I tend
to get results.
I have a great amount of
training in trauma therapy, play therapy and in Attachment Disorder therapy. I
have extensive experience with persons with multiple diagnoses and mental
illness. I am well versed on physical impairments and have a special interest
with the Hard of Hearing (HOH) and children with Asperger Syndrome/Autism. I
received my EMDR certification, having completed part II of the training in
September 2006. I will utilize EMDR along with my training in trauma therapy to
counsel persons with extreme trauma, single incident trauma, and long-term
abuse.
